The
Durban Pizza Festival is the first festival in town dedicated to pizza and aims
to celebrate Durban’s
love of the Italian classic.
The event
will feature some of the best local pizza joints Durban has to offer, as well as a great
selection of beverages.
“The main
aim of the event is to showcase local entrepreneurs and everyone in the restaurant
industry.
Event organizer Haylee Browne promises the Pizza Festival will showcase local restaurants, breweries, gin
and tonic bars, coffee vendors, clothing brands and a local pizza flour brand
as well as a great local line-up of entertainment.
All the pizza you can eat at the Durban Pizza and Pasta Festival She added
that they launched a food blog on Instagram called “Durban Bites” which was at
first only meant to share their love for food with others but soon became a bigger platform.
There will
be at least 16 pizza vendors- some of them offering vegan, vegetarian and
Halaal options. These include The Pizza Boyz, Jukes Pizza and Pizzaratta. And
when you tire off all that pizza there will also be flatbread, gelato and some
deep fried comforts.
The Pizza
Festival will be held at The Plant on Station
Drive on Wednesday 21 March.
